Bass Chapel Cemetery
(Established 1888)
Jackson Township, MO
Greene County
Bass Chapel Cemetery is located about six miles north of Strafford, Greene County, Missouri on Route 125. The earliest graves are situated on the north, adjacent to the church with a drive separating them. Desiring to establish a family burying ground on his land, Sampson Bass deeded a tract of land in 1888. In 1918 Sampson Bass and his wife Eliza deeded another tract of land east and south of the original tract. The Vanzandts are in Section B, Row 6. Bass Chapel Cemetery is a rural cemetery, but it was once in a small village called Bassville.
Bass Chapel was contributed by Ruby Mathieu.
